From Hue’ to Hoi An

The trip from Hue’ to Hoi An was an exceptionally beautiful drive. I will admit that, at times, the drive over the pass was a bit terrifying, with sharp turns taken by a swift moving bus. For the most part, however, the ride was simply breathtaking. Before heading up the pass, we stopped briefly at the beach, which allowed us the chance to wade into the East Sea and watch a few large Dragon Boat race. The water was silky and warm and he sand was made of tiny multicolored particles. It was, by far, the most beautiful beach I’ve ever imagined, much less seen.

The drive up the mountain allowed the most incredible views of the East Sea, as well as the incredibly lush foliage covering the mountainside. Once in Danang, the most populous and important city in central Vietnam, we ate lunch at a fantastic seafood restaurant. After we finished eating our lobster, we spent some additional time on the beach in front of the restaurant, which was right next to the Danang fishing village.

The exceptional drive, beaches, and food made for a perfect traveling day, contributing to one of my best days ever.
